Open for Business

PACE is committed to building a thriving, business-friendly Edmonton that attracts investment, creates jobs, and drives economic growth. This begins with electing councillors who understand business and enterprise—and who are committed to fostering a competitive environment for local employers and entrepreneurs.
To achieve this, PACE will:
- Control municipal spending to enable a business tax regime that is competitive with surrounding municipalities, helping Edmonton attract and retain investment.
- End anti-business policies such as removing parking and traffic access to commercial areas, and work to minimize the harm caused by prolonged construction disruptions.
- Support downtown revitalization by reinstating free parking on evenings and weekends, while reducing other street parking fees city-wide to encourage customers to return.
- Streamline economic development efforts by replacing the current fragmented and disjointed approach with a coordinated, city-wide strategy that aligns priorities and delivers better results at lower cost.
- Revise Blatchford construction criteria and requirements to reflect current market conditions and make the area more attractive to private developers.
Through these actions, PACE will make Edmonton a more welcoming and competitive place to do business—stimulating growth, innovation, and opportunity across the city.
