Principled Accountable Coalition for Edmonton filed its application with Edmonton Elections on December 19th seeking to become Edmonton's first municipal political party. More than 1200 signatures were on the petition from Edmontonians requesting approval.

Provincial legislation allowing for the creation of parties for the first time means that PACE will participate in the next election, October 20, 2025, with a full slate of candidates, covering all twelve Edmonton wards.

The City of Edmonton expects to take up to fifteen business days to review the PACE application meaning approval could come on or before January 14th.
